Rima Das is a highly-regarded filmmaker. Village Rockstars (2017), which won several international awards and the National Award for Best Film and Best Editing, was submitted as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 90th Academy Awards. Her other film, 'Bulbul Can Sing' (2018), also won several awards, including the 66th National Film Award for Best Feature Film in the Assamese Language.
