Madhu Trehan founded and was the editor of the news magazine India Today in 1975. In 1986, she produced and anchored a path-breaking television news magazine program Newstrack, and Trehan became known as a pioneer in investigative journalism. In 2009, Trehan’s bestseller book, Prism Me a Lie, Tell Me a Truth – Tehelka as Metaphor was published. Trehan was Editor-in-Chief of www.newslaundry.com, a website that critiques the press and media. After being in the industry for 49 years, today she is an independent journalist in what she considers the most difficult time to practice journalism.
