Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar is a writer. Shekhar won the 2015 Yuva Puraskar, was shortlisted for the 2015 Hindu Prize and 2015 Crossword Book Award, was nominated for the 2016 International Dublin Literary Award and shared the 2015 Muse India Young Writer Award for his first book, The Mysterious Ailment of Rupi Baskey. Shekhar made the 2016 Hindu Literary Prize shortlist for his book The Adivasi Will Not Dance: Stories. My Father's Garden, Jwala Kumar and the Gift of Fire: Adventures in Champakbagh, and other writings are among his other publications.
