Namrata graduated from the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India in 2007 and started editing documentaries like Baba Black Beard, I'm the Very Beautiful and 3 Blind Men. She edited her first feature film Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye in 2008. This was followed by Ishqiya, Love Sex and Dhokha, Band Baaja Baaraat, Shanghai, Kahaani, 2 States, Byomkesh Bakshy!, Titli, Dum Laga Ke Haisha among 25 other films, documentaries and web series'. She has received 2 Filmfare Awards for LSD and Kahaani, and the National Award for editing, also for Kahaani. She has also directed a documentary - ''Dahleez Paar'Paar' for NHK, Japan.
