Shubhashish’s first film, ‘Kush’ had its World Premiere at the Venice International Film Festival 2013, where it won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film. Kush was later shortlisted by the Academy for an Oscar in The Best Live Action Short in 2014 and won numerous international awards, including a National Award. This led to Shubhashish making his first directorial feature film, Mukti Bhawan (Hotel Salvation), which also had its World Premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Since then, the film has travelled to numerous international festivals, winning prizes around the globe, and gone to get distribution in over 40 countries.
