"Satyanshu Singh is a National Award-winning filmmaker, writer, and professor of cinema. After finishing his MBBS education from Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, Satyanshu gave up his job as a Doctor in the Armed Forces and started his professional journey by writing poems for Vikramaditya Motwane's 'Udaan'. He then wrote lyrics for 'Sulemani Keeda' and 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari'. His directorial debut was a Kashmiri short film 'Tamaash', that won numerous awards around the world including a National Award. Satyanshu's first feature film, 'Chintu Ka Birthday', has received a warm response from the audience. Satyanshu started teaching in Mass Media courses at colleges affiliated with Mumbai University in 2011. He designed and conducted screenwriting courses at Anupam Kher's 'Actor Prepares' for two years. In 2016, Satyanshu created AIB First Draft, a six-month writers' residency program. He also mentored the writing of 'Gormint', a show being produced for Amazon Prime. Satyanshu has co-authored a textbook on screenwriting that is ready to be published. He conducts screenwriting and film appreciation workshops and continues to teach undergraduate students in Mass Media courses. During April-May 2020, Satyanshu conducted online lectures on cinema for coronavirus relief that was attended by hundreds of students from across the world."
