Makarand Deshpande is an Indian film actor, writer, and director who works in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam cinema, and Indian Theatre. He, along with Kay Kay Menon, is the co-founder of ‘Ansh Theatre Group.’ He has played pivotal roles in various films like Jungle, Sarfarosh, Swades, Makdee amongst many others. He has also directed famous plays like ‘Chitra’, ‘Ek Kadam Aage’, ‘Kasturi’, ‘Grihalaxmi’, ‘Krishna Kidding’, ‘The Doll’, etc.
