A PhD in design, D. Udaya Kumar is a professor at the Department of Design in the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He is the man who designed the Rupee symbol as we know it today. He has great command over visual designing, graphic designing and typography. He has also worked in a magazine – Intelligent Computing CHIP for a renowned publishing house in Mumbai.
